UNICEF Canada · Elevate Girls
Khadija was once a little girl growing up in the Hagadera refugee camp, where organizations like UNICEF helped make education, hope, and opportunity possible. Today, she carries that forward, fundraising with UNICEF Canada through Elevate International so more girls can access the same chance to learn, dream, and build their own future.
It is the same belief this house is built on: when one girl is given an opportunity, she can change far more than her own life.
When girls rise, communities rise. When communities rise, Africa rises.
Smile Train Africa · Ambassador
Khadija serves as a Smile Train Africa Ambassador, supporting an organization that has helped provide more than 2 million free cleft surgeries worldwide through local medical professionals. In Somalia, Smile Train partners with Kalkaal Hospital in Mogadishu, making life-changing cleft care possible for children and families who might otherwise never have access to treatment.
For House of Hooyo, this work is about more than surgery. It is about dignity, confidence, and the chance for every child to be seen without fear. Like every garment we create, it begins with the belief that every person deserves to move through the world with confidence.
What We Are Building
House of Hooyo exists to build something that lasts. Over the next decade, we hope to invest in Somali pageantry, champion African talent, and partner with organizations creating lasting change across our communities. As the house grows, we want its impact to grow with it, leaving the next generation with more opportunity than the one before.
